When your journalist daughter sends you this message after vetting an email, it’s more than a little humbling:

“I will say em dashes are better than hyphens bc hyphens make things read like it’s one word:

— is better than -

Also just grammatically correct!”

So please take note, my friends! I will be doing my best to make the shift from hyphens to em dashes in future Edits. And thank you, Mads, for keeping me grounded as well as grammatically correct. ;)
