Life, Edited is a personal journal by writer and photographer Elizabeth Quon, focused on mindful living, everyday beauty, and the art of navigating life's in-between moments through words and photography.

Hi, I'm Elizabeth.

I'm in that in-between season where life is quietly shifting—not quite an empty nester, but close enough to feel the change. The pace of our home is different now, the chapters ahead feel wide open, and I'm doing my best to savor every moment of it.

I grew up in New Orleans, where joy is loud, food is everything, and celebration is practically a birthright. But it was nearly a decade living in Tokyo that truly shaped the way I see the world. Tokyo is one of the most alive, relentless cities on earth—and somehow, in the middle of all that beautiful frenzy, I learned to slow down. Living and traveling across the world has a way of doing that—of sharpening your eye for what actually matters—but Japan made it permanent for me. To notice the things we rush past: the care in small gestures, the beauty in ordinary details, the quiet significance of an everyday moment. I made friends there I never would have found anywhere else, and I came home carrying something I never want to lose.

Now I'm here—back in the rhythm of American life, watching my son finish high school, and doing what feels most natural: editing. Not erasing or reinventing, but looking closely at what's already here and deciding what's worth keeping. That's what this season is asking of me, and that's what Life, Edited is about.

It's my photography, my reflections, my travels, and the small joys that make an ordinary day worth remembering. Rooted in everything Tokyo taught me: that beauty isn't saved for special occasions. It's already here, if you're paying attention.

If you appreciate good light, honest moments, and the art of noticing—you'll feel right at home.

Welcome. I'm glad you're here.
