TOKYO: ASAKUSA
My view of Asakusa was one of layered tradition and lived rhythm-where the grandeur of temple gates gives way to daily movement, and ritual coexists effortlessly with routine. I was drawn to the choreography of the streets: commuters pausing on platforms, families flowing beneath lanterns, women in patterned kimono moving through quiet side alleys. From handwritten signs and fox masks, to the steady geometry of market rooftops, Asakusa revealed itself as both ceremonial and deeply human. Photographing here felt like witnessing continuity-old stories carried forward not as performance, but as part of everyday Tokyo living.
