Welcome to The Edit—a collection of personal essays, observations, and photography about life as it is: beautiful, complicated, funny, occasionally messy, and always changing.
Each entry is an Edit, a closer look at something worth noticing. Friendship and family. Travel and home. Growing older and knowing ourselves better. The things we carry, the things we let go, and the small pleasures that make an ordinary day feel like something more.
Some Edits ask questions. Some tell stories. Others simply stop long enough to notice something I don't want to forget.
These stories may begin with me, but so much of what we feel, question, carry, and celebrate is shared. I hope you'll find something here that speaks to you, too.
THE EDIT
Edit 51: Being An Anthology
“What do you photograph?" It should have been an easy question. Technically, it is. But the answer was, and still is, everything. The problem wasn't that I didn't have an answer. The problem was that I didn't have only one.
Edit 48: The Front Row Seat
Jackson turns eighteen today. Standing here in Tokyo—the city where he first reached for my hand from a stroller—I find myself thinking less about the milestone and more about the thousands of ordinary days that led here. This is what I've learned about parenthood, time, and the quiet honor of watching someone grow into exactly who they were always meant to be.
Edit 26: Shūchū
Life, Edited began in the in-between. This February, I found a word that names it: Shūchū—deep focus, clear vision, and peace in the choosing.
Edit 15: Orange You Glad To Finally Know?
We took our time with this one, and loved every minute of the wait. Some news just hits better when the timing’s right!
Edit 5: When the Work Starts Asking Back
The moment creativity asks for more-and why the thrill still wins.
